Job Description:
Water Missions International (WMI) is a Christian ministry whose mission is to provide worldwide access to safe water and the Christian gospel message.

This position is a calling from God and the Vice President for Development must be dedicated to serving Him through WMIs mission. WMI is beginning a transitional growth that will take it from its contemporary status to one of vastly increased capacity and complexity able to meet the worlds need. WMIs capacity is now limited by its current organization and must grow to meet the future demands.

Several functions of WMI must be developed to allow this expansion. Primary among them is finding strategic partners to provide modalities to reach needy countries and to provide in-kind resources. Donors are needed to provide financial resources. A capital campaign is essential. Strategies for integrating the gospel message appropriately with the provision of WMI systems and services are needed. Avenues for marketing WMI systems and services to government and commercial organizations involved in disaster relief must be explored and exploited. Furthermore, the overall development function must be expanded in coordination with WMIs other functions to ensure partners, donors, and expectant customers are not disappointed.

Organize a successful development arm for WMI
Include in that arm the capacity to approach and recruit strategic partners and donors who will provide entry to needy countries, in-kind resources, and/or financial resources
Conduct a major capital campaign
Establish an annual fund
Establish a system for integrating the gospel message with the provision of WMI systems and services

Education and experience:

The Vice President for Development must have an education commensurate with the intellectual, organizational and spiritual challenges of the position, including enough knowledge of science to understand and explain to laymen the significance of WMIs technology. Experience in major fundraising ventures including execution of a successful capital campaign is essential.

An evangelical Christian, sympathetic and committed to WMIs part in fulfilling the Great Commission
A superior and persuasive communicator in speaking and writing
Dignity, maturity and initiative to represent WMI successfully at the highest levels
Organizational skills commensurate with building a development arm from scratch
Inspiring leadership in assembling and motivating a team
Character above reproach that inspires donors confidence in WMIs stewardship
