Living Water International exists to demonstrate the love of God by helping communities acquire desperately needed clean water and experience "living water" – the gospel of Jesus Christ, which alone satisfies the deepest thirst. Nearly 25 years ago, Living Water set out to help the church be the hands and feet of Jesus by serving the poorest of the poor—the billion people in the world living on less than a dollar a day, and the 783 million people who lack access to safe drinking water.

Living Water International’s training programs in shallow well drilling, pump repair, and hygiene education have equipped thousands of volunteers and professionals in the basics of integrated water solutions. With a missional approach to demonstrate the love of God by helping communities acquire desperately needed clean water, Living Water International focuses on the following five areas: water access, sanitation, hygiene promotion, Christian witness, and sustainability. Since its founding in 1990, the organization has worked with communities to complete more than 14,000 water projects in 23 countries.

The Senior Director of US Church Mobilization will be the pioneer of the US Church Mobilization Program, a new initiative of Living Water. The US Church Mobilization Program exists to mobilize churches across the US that are focused on the physical and spiritual transformation of communities through the catalyst of water, sanitation, and hygiene. The Senior Director of US Church Mobilization will share Living Water’s mission with church/denomination leaders and congregations and will serve as an organization spokesperson among key Christian networks. He or she will develop and lead a team of professionals to support the flourishing of US churches seeking to discover and live out their Integral Mission. The role will play a pivotal role in shaping program, spiritual formation, and other organizational practices.

The successful candidate will be a seasoned leader who deeply embraces God’s heart for the global Church and feels called to help the Church live out the gospel in both word and deed. He or she will have a track record of leading teams to excellence and stewarding an organization’s missiological and theological values. The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree, and an advanced degree such as MDiv, ThM, MBA, or PhD is preferred. He or she must have a comprehensive understanding of theology and church relations as well as acute business acumen in this role of church consultation and development. The Director of US Church Mobilization will be an established and respected leader who has held strategic roles in churches, international mission organizations, and/or NGOs, with a demonstrated ability to catalyze passion and action among US churches.

Living Water International’s headquarters are in Stafford, TX, the fast-growing southwestern section of the Houston metropolitan area with easy access to neighboring cities. Stafford ranked #36 on CNN’s 100 Best Places to Live and Launch in 2008 because the town has no city property tax and the lowest sales tax in the Houston area. Houston is the fourth-largest city in the United States and the largest city in the state of Texas. It is home to the Texas Medical Center, the world's largest concentration of healthcare and research institutions, and NASA's Johnson Space Center, where the Mission Control Center is located. Rated as a global city, Houston's economy has a broad industrial base in energy, manufacturing, aeronautics, and transportation. It is also leading in health care sectors and building oilfield equipment; only New York City is home to more Fortune 500 headquarters. Houston also has an active visual and performing arts scene in the Theater District and offers year-round resident companies in all major performing arts.
