Position Name: Pediatrician
Position Location: Changsha, China
Position Start Date: As soon as possible

The Pediatrician, in collaboration with other medical and health related staff at ICC Changsha, will apply pediatric medical knowledge and skill to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illnesses diseases, disorders of children with disabilities. In particular, you will address issues such as congenital disorders, defects, genetic variation and immunology that are unique in the realm of pediatrics.

You will be reporting to the Changsha Project Manager and Expertise Team (Medical Director).

Areas of Responsibilities:
Examine childrens medical conditions;
Order, perform and interpret diagnostic tests;
Prescribe and administer individualized treatment and medication;
Treat day-to-day illnesses such as minor injuries, infectious diseases, and immunizations.
Counsel children regarding concerns and preventative health plans;
Track childrens growth to adulthood;
Obtain and maintain accurate medical histories;
Monitor treatment and care plans;
Track childrens recovery progress and evaluate treatment outcomes using medical measures as appropriate;
Persist in being continuously educated in medical advancements and practices through appropriate research;
Organize preventative medical programs;
Promote health education;
Instruct foster parents and other staff in appropriate health care based on childs medical needs;
Collaborate as a member of a multi-disciplinary health team and provide pediatric insights and training to other medical and non-medical staff;
Oversee and be a source of consultation for other medical staff;
Refer children to other appropriate sources of treatment, and
Assist in the management, purchase, repair and storage of medical equipment.

5 years experience acting independently in a Pediatrician role demonstrating sound clinical judgment in the diagnosis and treatment of childrens and youths medical conditions and disorders;
Demonstrate knowledge of how to apply standard concepts, practices and procedures within the field of pediatrics;
Experience in administering appropriate medical tests, and interpreting and applying test results;
Demonstrated ability to develop appropriate treatment plans based on clinical and formal medical assessments performed on children and youths;
Broad knowledge of current pediatric research;
Advanced research capabilities;
Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in emergencies;
Ability to manage stress;
Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills;
Demonstrated cross cultural proficiency;
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people and project areas;
Demonstrated ability to train and support staff members;
Problem-solving, critical thinking and decision making abilities;
Exceptional organizational capabilities and program implementation skills;
Strong code of ethics and professionalism;
Fluency in mandarin is an asset; and
Understanding of Chinese culture.

Education: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited program. Completion of residency and Board Certification/License in Pediatrics.
