Position Name: Nurse (Registered)
Position Location: Changsha, China
Position Start Date: As soon as possible

The Nurse will assist the Doctors and medical staff members in assessing patient health problems and needs, and developing and implementing care plans and providing training to other staff as needed.

You will be reporting to the Expertise Team (Medical Director).

Areas of Responsibilities:
Assist doctors in the general care and treatment of patients;
Monitor and track vital signs and raise concerns regarding patient to the doctor;
Take and chart temperatures, pulses and respirations;
Prepare and assist with procedures such as dressing wounds, bathing and dressing, IV placement, and giving enemas;
Prepare patients for, and assist with, examinations and treatments;
Measure doses and administer medications;
Develop the day-to-day nursing care plans;
Monitor general patient needs including personal hygiene;
Provide basic care such as feeding and bathing;
Perform emergency first and alert doctors to emergency conditions;
Maintain unit safety and cleanliness;
Educate foster parents and other staff towards an awareness and understanding of health and illness issues;
Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans;
Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and ensure that stock of supplies is maintained; and
Maintain accurate reports and records regarding treatment and recovery.

3 years experience in providing nursing care in a health setting;
Experience working with children and/or disabled individuals;
Experience in administering medical tests;
Demonstrated knowledge of various medications used specifically for disabled individuals;
Demonstrated knowledge of infection control practices;
Basic knowledge of medical and laboratory sciences;
Basic knowledge of nutrition;
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards;
Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in emergencies;
Ability to manage stress;
Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops;
Demonstrated cross cultural proficiency;
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people and project areas;
Problem-solving, critical thinking and decision making abilities;
Exceptional organizational capabilities and program implementation skills;
Exceptional detail orientation;
Strong code of ethics and professionalism;
Fluency in mandarin is an asset; and
Understanding of Chinese culture.

Education: Bachelor or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited program. Professionally registered and licensed to practise Nursing.
