The Manager of Therapy is responsible for overseeing all human, material and financial resources within the Therapy Department ensuring it is managed efficiently and effectively in delivering appropriate services to the target group - disabled orphans.

Areas of Responsibilities include:
Oversee and co-ordinate all aspects of the ICC Changsha therapy program, including group programs and individuals progress. This should be done in conjunction with therapy staff and other managers, as appropriate.
Ensure assessments are carried out on the children/young people requiring therapy and that goals and programs are written, as required.
Ensure that the therapy services have all the necessary equipment and resources in order to carry out a high standard of work.
Liaise with overseas therapists regarding short term and long-term opportunities and arrange the work program for visiting therapists.
Ensure overall financial efficiency of ICC by preparing and monitoring the therapy services budget.
Improve the quality of therapy services by continuous quality management and frequent review and revising of services provided.
Ensure regular training for therapy staff is provided, using in-service program, yearly therapy training, on the job supervision, external courses and visiting overseas therapists, as appropriate.
Responsible for, recruitment, orientation and training of new staff, in conjunction with personnel manager.
Represent therapy services at Changsha Managers Meeting and to all other levels of ICC management, as required.
Ensure good communication with other managers, as appropriate.
Be involved in providing input into the ICC Social Welfare Training Center, including in-service training, carer training and therapy training, as appropriate.
Continually update knowledge and good practice via self study.
Support and contribute to the smooth running of ICC Changsha and ensure the therapy practice is supporting all ICC policies and guidelines.
Network with relevant Chinese and International agencies and organizations in order to contribute to the development of therapy within ICC and within China.


Experience in pediatric therapy preferred.
Well developed interpersonal, organizational and decision making skills.
Ability to provide professional leadership and facilitate change.
Ability to function both independently and as a team member.
Ability to liaise closely and co-operate well within a multi-disciplinary team.
Management skills.

Strong walk with God; sound in doctrine and practice.
Willingness to uphold and walk out the vision and values of ICC.
Demonstrated Godly character, with integrity, honesty and humility.
Demonstrated passion for and compassion in working with the poor and needy.

Qualified Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist (or Chinese equivalent) and a minimum of three years experience.
