ADVENT GROUP MINISTRIES is a team of Christians with a mission of bringing hope, healing, and Christ’s love to hurting children and their families. We provide personal care through a professional staff of counselors and social workers and a network of well-trained
volunteers. Our purpose is to meet the needs of troubled and abused youth and adults through Christian love and therapeutic services.
As a quick introduction, the Recovery Program Social Worker is a member of a leadership and treatment team which provides services to chemically dependent and behaviorally disturbed adolescents in group homes. They interface with various agencies to provide
services to these teenagers and their families. The position is ideal for someone who has studied social work or counseling and wants to put these skills into practice.
Initiate and process child referrals with probation and social services to determine the most ideal placement for each child. Once a child is placed responsibilities would include documenting a plan of treatment and on going progress and revisions, weekly
group counseling sessions with teens, and encouraging appropriate parental involvement through contact and education. As a member of the Recovery program, seeking to develop and meet long term program goals and objectives, and participating in staff trainings
• Master’s degree in Social Work; or Marriage, Family and Child Counseling from an accredited college or university
• One year clinical experience with adolescents, and experience in case management
• Familiarity with recovery principals and the Twelve Steps (AA & NA)
The position is full time, salaried at $45,000/year and includes medical benefits, and paid vacation, sick and holiday.
