Director of Childrens Discipleship (DCD) Position Overview

Position Purpose: This position exists to provide an effective childrens ministry among children birth through the sixth grade. Specifically the purpose of this position is to...
Lead OLCC children to be and make disciples in age appropriate ways.
Provide state of the art health-safety-attention care for OLCC nursery infants and toddlers.
Reach the children in the OLCC neighborhood with the love and gospel of Jesus.
Equip pre-teen parents to disciple their children at home.

-eagerly looking forward to coming to church and related activities.
-growing in their knowledge of the Bible, heartfelt worship, godly character, and good relationships with each other.
-intentionally and considerately praying for others, showing the kindness of Christ and sharing His gospel with their friends at school.
-experiencing the joy of doing acts of kindness/service to those in need.
-developing a growing excitement about missions through regular stories and reports from the mission field.
Our 3-6th graders are being mentored in small groups by adult men and women.
Parents are leading/nurturing their children at home with a wise combination of consistent love, affirmation, discipline and instruction.

-BA or equivalent, preferably in Elementary Education.
-Mature and experienced educator with prior Childrens Ministry experience
-A heart for children and families and excellent interpersonal skills to relate to them.
-Experience successfully recruiting and training volunteers, as well as leading parenting workshops.
-Strong Biblical foundation and personal relationship with the Lord.
-Organizational and administrative skills
-Character and Doctrinal Standard: The person must be living a life that confirms they are a genuine, growing follower of Jesus Christ. They must be able to honestly affirm the core beliefs included in the OLCC doctrinal statement and held in common by all who receive Jesus as God the Son and the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as the inspired words of God.
