Job Description:
Community Partners, Inc. - COPA -is an Advance Special of the United Methodist Church Board of Global Ministries. COPA is also an Advance Special of the Sarasota District in Florida where it is based. There is a sister organization in England (COPA/UK) and an affiliated branch in Virginia as well as groups in several states that are also partners. COPA Directors also work with Dominican leaders in order to carry out the mission of building Christian communities.

COPA works in support of communities in the Dominican Republic. Volunteers from the U.K. and the U.S., alongside the people from the villages, have built two schools, two pre-schools, two dining shelters and two kitchens.

Assistant Project Director, 2 year position, available now.

Working for Community Partners, Inc. (COPA) for Rev Connie DiLeo, Project Director of the COPA Schools in Barahona Province in the Dominican Republic.

*Primary responsibilities include sharing in the overall management of two schools and two clinics, and a trade building.

*Responsible for maintaining student sponsorship records.

*Must be computer literate.

*Manage the day-to-day operation of school and clinic in the village of Bombita including being responsible in the development of programs for use of the trade building.

*Support the Project Director in the smooth operation of the project and deputize for the director in her absence.

Qualifications:

*Computer literate able to work with MS Word, Access, and Excel, internet an email protocol.

*Should possess good organizational skills, good written and communication skills, able to motivate and work alongside local staff developing their skills.

*Spoken Spanish or the ability to learn Spanish is essential.

*Furthermore, the ability to read and write Spanish is useful.

*A valid passport is required.

*Housing, insurance, airfare, and a monthly stipend of $500 are provided.

*Please note that the successful candidate will be required to undergo a criminal background check before commencing work.
