Job Description:

Immediate need for an individual to support the International Disaster Response process of Samaritan's Purse (SP).The InternationalDisaster Response Unit (IDRU) Technical Advisor serves the Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART)/Incident Management Team (IMT) system by:

  • developing disaster response capacity;
  • designing/developing preparedness and response tools;
  • assisting in international disaster resopnses;
  • establishing SP protocols and standards for disaster response;
  • developing and implementing disaster simulations;
  • liaising with strategic disaster response partners.


The successful applicant will have previous experience with:

  • international disaster relief and/or humanitarian aid,
  • demonstrated proficiency in disaster response standards for interventions.
  • writing grants/proposals/reports, manuals
  • monitoring and evaluation,
  • donor/partner organizations such as USAID (OFDA, FFP), UN agenicies,
  • on-line learning tools/hand-held learning,
  • strong diplomacy, organization, and management skills.


The position is located at the Samaritan's Purse international headquarters in Boone, NC, with some international travel as needed.
