Provide counseling services, rehabilitation support and advice from a Christian perspective
Supervise counseling staff providing training, work assignment and review, performance evaluations and employee discipline as necessary.
Ensure that assigned personnel perform duties and responsibilities in a safe and prudent manner, which does not expose them or others to unnecessary harm or risk of on-the-job injury.
Identify staff training needs and develop workshops or recommend training programs to enhance their performance, including development of casework plans, case management and case monitoring.
Determine the acceptance of cases and assign to worker based on staff strengths and availability.
Provide weekly case reporting, assist staff by identifying mental health issues related to placement, assist staff in identifying appropriate resources and treatment options.
Establish departmental priorities and develop recommendations and assist with development and implementation of department objectives, including trauma informed practices.
Ensure departments compliance with laws, regulations, statutes, and policies
Review, edit, and approve written assessments, reports, and case notes and develop procedures for information sharing.
Work with other departments within the organization to coordinate services and resolve problems, working (as appropriate) through the lens of trauma history to enhance accountability.
Represent the department on committees and organizational meetings.
Abide by all task of the counselor job description in exercising the duties of a member of the counseling team.
Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Has extensive counseling experience with troubled kids.
Has knowledge and experience with the impact of negative childhood experiences in adult physical, mental and emotional health outcomes, and a working knowledge of the power of resilience, relationship and nurturance in creating more positive outcomes is
Has a solid track record of running a highly respected counseling program.
Master Degree in Social Work or equivalent
Possess or the ability to obtain Washington State Counselor Certification
Ability to pass background and fingerprint check.
Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills.
