Salem Communications is looking for the next General Manager responsible for directing the day to day and long range efforts of a radio station cluster (market to be disclosed later in the process). Responsibilities include aggressive, proactive local direct
spot and long-form program marketing/sales; creative positioning of the station to the local community for increased audience share; building relationships with community religious leadership; and partnering with national ministry clients towards improved
financial performance. Oversight and management of local technical, engineering, administration, human resources and promotions departments. Qualified candidates must have demonstrated ability to exceed financial/budget goals; hire, train and motivate key
talent (particularly sales); and protect/enhance the station's FCC license.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:
For consideration, candidates will have a track record of at least five years of successful radio station and/or sales management in a comparable market. Knowledge and skills in developing local direct conceptual spot sales is essential. Familiarity with
the religious and conservative core audience, its issues and concerns, is preferred. Career stability, strong business acumen and the ability to recruit, train and grow sales talent is essential.
Must be willing to relocate to radio market.
