Job Description:

 

The VP of Marketing will be responsible for and provide executive-level marketing expertise for LifeWay Christian Stores.  Driving traffic and serving as the “chief customer advocate” within the stores division will be a key responsibility. The VP of Marketing will oversee a department of approximately 25 people and will serve on the Retail Leadership Team. The VP of Marketing will oversee the national advertising budget for the stores and will work closely with store operations on the local store marketing budget, sharing the responsibility for sales and operating results. Customer acquisition, store traffic and customer retention will be key elements of the position.  The VP of Marketing will report the President of LifeWay Christian Stores.

 

REQUIREMENTS
  • Demonstrated strong leadership in leading or changing a marketing team
  • Working knowledge of leading-edge digital/social media marketing techniques; Proven track record with traditional print and email based direct marketing tools
  • Proven ability to design and implement effective traffic driving strategies in a retail setting
  • Has a strong financial acumen/has managed large marketing budgets
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills
  • Retail marketing experience at the executive level
  • Deep experience in managing a team of people
  • Demonstrated understanding of omni-channel retailing
  • Has experience building/managing/ or restructuring a marketing team
  • Possesses a “roll up your sleeves” work ethic
  • Has demonstrated strong strategic and operational skills
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field, MBA preferred
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design, implement and facilitate marketing strategy to consistently drive higher traffic through increase customer acquisition and enhanced customer retention efforts
  • Manage the advertising and promotion budget for LifeWay Stores; utilize division resources to maximize impact of national, local, social, and mobile marketing plans
  • Manage the overall marketing teams on a daily basis
  • Work closely with other departments inside the Christian Stores Division to achieve revenue and operating results
  • Participate in the Retail Leadership Team for LifeWay Stores
  • Participate in corporate, division, and department strategic planning
  • Prepare and present marketing trends, ideas, and strategies to the leadership team
