We have an incredible ministry and professional opportunity for a Media Relations Associate to provide media and promotional support for the Media and Community Relations team of Operation Christmas Child (OCC) within one of our regional offices located in Charlotte, NC, Orlando, FL, Xenia, OH, Overland Park, KS, Ellicott City, MD, Franklin, TN, Albany, NY, Tacoma, WA, Alpharetta, GA, Aurora, CO, Hurst, TX, Minneapolis, MN, and Santa Ana, CA. This is a full-time, temporary position from July to December.

The Media Relations Associate will coordinate regional media efforts of Operation Christmas Child. Responsibilities include: sending customized press releases to media outlets, media pitching, supporting media relations volunteers, coordinating interviews, social media support, and providing general media and event support for national OCC promotion. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate exceptional attention to detail. All candidates must have two or more years of college experience, and Communications, Public Relations or Journalism majors are desired. Candidates must have media/public relations experience in written and verbal communications and must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel. Strong candidates will also adhere to the Samaritan’s Purse statement of faith and be committed to the mission and vision of Operation Christmas Child. Some domestic travel is possible. Spanish language proficiency is desirable in the Santa Ana, Hurst, and Orlando offices.

Employment Dates: July 13, 2014 - December 19, 2014.
