Position Summary

The Properties Supervisor works in the site team at the Michigan Overnight Property in Evart, MI. This person will be responsible for maintaining and improving the overall property and grounds.


Principal Duties and Job Functions

  • Responsible for supervising staff and volunteers in transportation, property landscaping, and lawn care, including TST campers during summer program.
  • Assist with hiring of hourly employees and managing the properties work force.
  • Schedule hourly employees and volunteers in a way that reflects the seasonal nature of the work and fluctuating demands.
  • Oversee the tubing hill maintenance for accessibility use and proper levels of snow making and grooming.
  • Ensure lakes, streams, pastures, trees, and gardens are maintained.
  • Maintain all signage and banners on camp, replacing when necessary.
  • Oversee all road maintenance, grading and snow removal of MION properties including maintenance of walkways, paths and sidewalks.
  • Work with transportation specialist to maintain fleet of vehicles and equipment to include preventive maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs with vendors as needed.
  • Responsible for coordination of the luggage delivery system for summer campers.
  • Performs preventative grounds assessments to ensure grounds meet standards. Quickly respond to conditions that might cause personal injury or damage to property.
  • Manage all associated account lines and perform within budget.



Experience and Qualifications Requirements

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  •   Knowledge   of and passion for SpringHilll’s mission and philosophy of ministry
  •   Minimum   5 year experience in landscaping and property maintenance.
  •   5+   years leadership and supervisory experience preferred.
  •   Associates   degree or equivalent trade experience preferred.
  •   Flexibility   in work hours to serve needs of ministry.
  •   Valid   Michigan driver’s license and be insurable under the organization’s auto   insurance policy.
  •   Certification   and/or experience in driving large equipment, CDL preferred.

  • Self-starter who is highly motivated and able to work unsupervised for extended periods


Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  •   Must   live near (within 10 minutes) of Camp property and be accessible 24/7 for   emergency response
  •   Ability   to work varied schedules, late at night, early in the morning, including   weekends and rotation of on-call hours
  •   Ability   to work in inclement weather
  •   Ability   and willingness to drive to other SpringHill program locations, as required
  •   Able   to lift, bend, and twist
  •   Able   to push and pull loads
  •   Able   to lift frequently up to 50 lbs, occasionally 50-100 lbs
  •   Good   eye-hand coordination
  •   Excellent   hearing and sight
