Job Description for Sales Assistant

Competently and professionally assist the Sales Department.  Where relevant, meet the expressed needs of existing and potential clients.  This will be done while staying within the negotiated job responsibilities at all times.   Occasionally, accompany a Sales Representative or Sales Manager on a client or potential client appointment outside of the WORD FM office.

  • Sales Representative Assistance

        Assist, support and co-ordinate the ongoing needs of the Sales team.  This includes:

-        Prepare presentations

-        Provide Sales Team with clerical support

-        Prepare letters

-        Field client calls as needed

  • Sales Management Assistance

      Assist the Sales Manager in supporting the Sales Team on an ongoing basis.  This includes:

-     Prepare meeting agendas as required

-     Take notes at meetings and distribute the same when applicable

-      Prepare, coordinate, distribute and maintain sales kits

-     Track Sales contests

-     Co-coordinate with other departments as directed by the Sales Manager.

  • Interdepartmental Liaison

      Ensure all pertinent information is submitted to all relevant parties and departments within the requested and negotiated timelines on an ongoing basis.  This includes:

-        Traffic Department

-       Promotion, Production and Programming requests

-       Management

     Ensure effective interdepartmental communication occur on an ongoing basis.


  • Administration

      Ensure all relevant paperwork applicable to the overall job responsibility is submitted within the negotiated and requested timelines at all time.  This includes:

-        Paperwork required by Sales and Sales Management

-        Paperwork required by the Accounting and Traffic Departments

-       Update Master Client List monthly


  •     Minimum 1 year clerical experience; previous media experience preferred
  •     Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  •     Outstanding organization and Time Management skills
  •     Possess a positive attitude
  •     High school graduate; college preferred
