Job Description:

Advent Group Ministries is a Social Services agency made up of Christians reaching out to at-risk 13-18 year olds in Santa Clara County.

The basic responsibilities and qualifications for the Resident Counselor position are as follows:

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor degree in a social science field preferred.
2. Previous volunteer work or employment working with disturbed adolescents encouraged.
3. Willingness to live with adolescents and work with a therapeutic team of Christian professionals.
4. 21 years old and in possession of a valid driver's license.

Broad responsibilities:
The Resident Counselor is responsible for the overall care and supervision of six behaviorally/emotionally disturbed and/or chemically dependent adolescents. They implement an individualized treatment plan for each youth 4 days a week while living with them. This is done within the context of an interdependent staff treatment team.

Resident Counselors play a vital role in the care and treatment of addicted and alcoholic teenagers within the live-in recovery group home setting. These full time paid positions are an excellent way for you to put your Christianity to the test. These teens need your unconditional love, message of hope and professional services.
