Job Description:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) responsibilities will be fully developed over a period of time. The objective is to have an Executive Managing committee of three people (President, COO, and Vice President of Programs) in charge of managing the day-to-day functioning of Bright Hope. Along with standard areas of operations such as finance and operations this role will also oversee a growing fair trade craft division. Understanding the needs of a Christian Ministry (501(c)3) with a fair trade division as well as staff concerns and government requirements is a great challenge in todays environment. It is expected that the COO will lead the organization with a business acumen that is inspirational, grace filled and wise.

Skills Required:
Knowledge of non-profit business and operations.
Basic computer skills and knowledge.
Ability to manage, develop and supervise others.
Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks and projects.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the general public using tact, courtesy, good judgment, media and public relations.
Exemplary communication skills and effective team player.
