Job Type: Full-Time

Job Description:

Lake Lundgren Bible Camp had its first week of summer camp in 1935 and that week was described as providing “a real wholesome good time” for those who attended.  We may use different words today, but our desire is still the same as those who founded the camp.  The camp is located near Pembine, WI with 120 acres on the north shore of Lake Lundgren amidst a stand of towering pines.  The camp has grown to a year-round ministry serving about 4,000 guests annually over approximately 10,000 camper days.  After directing the camp for more than 38 years, Mike Hryshkanych is making plans to retire.  He and his wife, Ruth, are in the process of transitioning to their next phase of life as servants of Jesus Christ.  His transition is creating an open position for a new Camp Director.

The Camp Director has the responsibility for 1.) modelling, upholding and communicating camp’s Statement of Faith, i.e., Creed, as occasion permits and 2.) the design, implementation and evaluation of camp ministries and provides leadership for operations, promotion and fundraising.  He will direct and manage a full, part-time and seasonal staff.  This director will ensure the creation, development and ongoing effectiveness of all programs and activities through the assistance of qualified full-time missionary staff.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree and at least five years Christian camping experience, or the equivalent (seminary training desirable); possess proven public relations and fundraising skills; have experience in camp operations management, or the equivalent, including oversight of budgets; demonstrated effective interpersonal skills (shepherding skill desirable); possess strong conceptual and visionary competence; and most importantly have an active faith in in Jesus Christ and desire to see campers come to know and grow in Him.

Interested candidates should visit to find a general information letter, a job description for the Camp Director position, a Ministry Description, a Board of Directors Narrative, an overview of benefits, an organizational chart, this year’s operating budget, and an application form.  Applicants are requested to use the application form on camp's website, and not apply through the ChristianJobs application system.  Applications must be received by May 15, 2014.
