Many have never heard the gospel of Jesus Christ! Then consider using your IT Skills to expedite Bible translation for them as a technical writer. In this position, you will write information technology documents that will enable the information technology work of Wycliffe Bible Translators to smoothly proceed. These documents include: tutorials, user guides, user help files, and reference materials for computer programs. To qualify for this position, you must have a working knowledge of MS Publisher; an advanced knowledge in the use of the Windows environment; an advanced knowledge of PowerPoint, Word and Excel; and experience writing information technology technical and instructional materials. This is possible with the aid of information technology. Without it, it is estimated that it will take 150 years to begin Bible translation in every language that needs it. Provide the documents necessary to support the software solutions that enable Wycliffe USA to meet their information management needs. These documents to include: tutorials, user guides, user help files and reference materials for computer programs.
While other duties may be assigned, the following are a minimal set of duties and responsibilities:
Writes documents such as tutorials, user guides and reference materials for computer programs
Submits articles to user-oriented publications
Assists with in-house technical periodicals
Analyzes user interaction with computer programs from which documentation is written
May teach in training programs
May assist in the production of in-house technical periodicals and in writing computer based training materials
Actively participates in a development project team
Attends either in person or via conference call all team and department meetings
Submit requested status reports in electronic format to the Systems Development Manager
