Interns are an important part of giving the MeySen children more exposure to the English language. The role of the intern can be anywhere from playing and speaking with the children to working with kids in small groups to work on their phonics skills. The interns work in both the Immersion Program as well as the Friends Club Program.
Be involved in the classroom by speaking English to the children.
Assist the classroom teachers in class preparations, playtime, programs, etc.
Assist and participate in activities to improve the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of children
Prepare indoor and outdoor areas for learning or recreational activities
Assist in supporting children with intellectual, physical and behavioral difficulties with their academic studies
Assist children individually to learn social skills
Assist with the preparation of teaching aids, copying and collating written or printed material
Terms and Qualifications
・Native English speaker
・Between16 years of age to Pre-college graduate
・Up to 90 days in Japan
・Student is responsible for round trip airfare, spending money and travel insurance
・Furnished housing and food will be provided by the school
・Will represent and promote the schools mission and values
・Creates a positive, non-threatening, supportive learning environment
・Serves as a role model to students
・Is flexible and open-minded with respect to learning styles
