Job Description: Director of Curriculum and Publishing
The Director of Curriculum and Publishing (DCP) oversees and coordinates the curriculum development and publishing functions within BEE World. The publishing function includes all of the Internet Biblical Seminary (IBS) development and operations which also involves all translation efforts. The DCP ensures that the activities of the curriculum development work are properly planned and coordinated with the IBS development and translation efforts. The DCP ensures that all staff members are properly trained, so they can perform their duties effectively. The DCP works with the Human Resources Director and Human Resources Recruiter to ensure that all needed positions are filled and performing well. The DCP oversees and coordinates the work of the Curriculum Director, IBS Project Manager, IBS Operations Manager, and Translation Team Manager. This includes working with volunteers and permanent BEE World staff. The DCP works with the General Director and Executive Director to establish all plans and budgets for the DCPs areas of responsibility (as mentioned above). The DCP establishes all standards and ensures compliance to those standards. The DCP is responsible for supporting the needs of the management team reporting to the DCP. The DCP establishes all necessary organizational structures in the form of policies, procedures, and physical resources necessary to develop the required infrastructure to meet ministry objectives. The DCP ensures that necessary communication, coordination, and follow-through are accomplished in the organization, so all processes and functions work smoothly and efficiently.
Responsible for the oversight and initial orientation/training of the Curriculum Development Team and Publishing Team.
Mentor staff to assume more responsible leadership positions.
Ensure that all management positions are filled with qualified people to perform their areas of responsibility.
Develop a training program for new personnel in each of these roles.
Work with the Human Resources Department to coordinate recruitment plans to acquire necessary personnel to meet production needs.
Work with the Country Directors and the Curriculum Development Team and Publishing Team to identify priorities for course development and platform delivery mechanisms within the larger scope of the BEE World ministry.
Work with each department manager and the Executive Director to develop goals and objectives to accomplish the ministry vision through course development and distribution.
Ensure through regular meetings and communication with the Curriculum Development Team and Publishing Team that ongoing coordination and training of course writers/revisers take place.
Work closely with the Country Directors to assess field needs, and then set up strategies to see that these needs will be met in a timely fashion, with Gods help.
Work with the Implementation Coordinator.
Must be an active part of the whole team of BEE World missionaries.
Must participate in the staff conferences and BEE Fellowship functions.
Must possess a strong background in "team coordination" and management experience.
Must know how to lead and build up an organization with few or limited resources with which to work.
Exhibit patience and perseverance.
Must be people centered rather than task centered.
Essential that this person practice servant-leadership rather than having the need to control.
Must possess strong people skills and good communication skills and see being a "team member" as the highest value.
Must be a big picture person who can implement the "Big Picture."
This person must be a committed, growing Christian with a strong involvement in their local congregation and possess a passion for missions. This person must also exhibit the fruit of the Spirit in all aspects of life and agree with the Doctrinal Statement of BEE World.
BEE World is a faith mission, which means that the person accepting this position must be willing to raise their personal support. BEE World will provide support systems to aid the candidate, upon acceptance, in knowing how to begin to build their prayer and financial support teams.
