The Rescue Mission Alliance (RMA) is a Christian non-profit organization that has been serving the less fortunate in Southern California through emergency and long-term rehabilitation services since 1972. RMA partners with local churches to meet the spiritual
needs of the people we serve. The Thrift Stores provide revenue to support the Rescue Mission drug and alcohol recovery programs.
The Reseda Thrift Store Supervisor is primarily responsible for all aspects of Thrift Operations, employee relations, safety compliance, production, retail merchandising, and customer service; ensure budget alignment and complete oversight of the operation.
This is a full-time, exempt position located in San Fernando Valley at the Reseda location and reports to the Area Manager. Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is eligible for benefits according to applicable guidelines.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for the direct supervision of the thrift store operation, working with the Area Manager, set policy and procedure for the collection, sorting, pricing and display of donated materials and ensures that these are followed by all store personnel,
implement policies and procedures for safety and loss prevention, exercise proper cash management procedures that guard the safety of the thrift store cash including daily deposit of proceeds, supervise mentor and train employees, program clients, and volunteering
(vocational training) in specific areas of the Thrift Store operations. Prepare evaluation reports on program clients and submit them to the program manager regularly. Attend and participate in professional group meetings (ACTS) and stay current on trends
and best practices for Thrift Store Operations, promote, train RMA mission, vision and values.
Committed Christian in good standing in a local church, five years increasing experience in Thrift Store Operations, high school diploma or GED and valid California driver’s license, office administration, retail, supervision and training experience. Ability
to make sound decisions and form independent judgments, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, conduct business in an honest and fair manner with integrity, supervise and delegate responsibility and authority to others commensurate with their
experience and skill level and with company policy. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with public officials, managers and supervisors, contractors and staff. Proficient in PC usage and specifically with Microsoft Office software, able
