About Medford, Oregon and the Rogue Valley:
Medford is a location of spectacular natural beauty. The town enjoys a relatively mild climate throughout the year, offering Medford residents the absolute best of the four seasons. Medford is in a mountain valley, with the magnificent Cascades to the east,
the Siskiyou Mountains to the south and the Coast Range and Umpqua Divide on the town's west and north. The riverside city of Grants Pass is 25 miles away and Ashland is 13 miles south.
The Rogue Valley is a region made famous by the nationally designated "Wild and Scenic" Rogue River. Recreational activities abound for the outdoor enthusiast: Hiking, fishing, biking, rafting, boating, water skiing, snowboarding, snow skiing, camping and
a host of other outdoor options are all within a one-hour drive of Medford. Medford is located on Interstate 5, 27 miles north of the California border and has a milder and drier climate than the northern parts of the state.
Additionally, Medford is home to the Craterian Theater at the Collier Center for the Performing Arts, which hosts world class performances throughout the year. Nearby Ashland hosts the Oregon Shakespearean Festival which is known throughout the world for
its production of plays by renowned playwrights.
Southern Oregon boasts an excellent first-class health care system with two regional medical centers in Medford. With health care, affordable cost of living, and the great quality of life, many large companies have made Southern Oregon their home. Some
of the companies based in the region are Harry & David, Brammo electric motorcycles, Tucker Sno-Cat, Amy’s Kitchen, Asante, and Motorcycle USA.
The quality of life in Southern Oregon has made it a popular place for relocation, especially for those looking for the safety and comfort of a close-knit community. This region offers a stable economy with a variety of employment options. Adding to its
appeal, the area boasts a reasonable property tax rate, boosted by the fact that Oregon has no sales tax.
