Job Type: Full-Time

Job Description:
About the Rivendell Institute:

The mission of the Rivendell Institute is to bring Christ and his gospel to bear on all the life and labors of the University. In short, we exist to serve faculty and students throughout the Yale University community by exploring the integration of Christian thought within the academic, moral and civic dimensions of life.

A note from our Executive Director, David Mahan:

The Rivendell Institute represents a unique combination of university campus ministry and academic scholarship. At the core of our mission, as our website describes, is an effort to engage Yale University and academia with a vital and compelling Christian witness, even as we extend that vision by equipping other Christian students and faculty to live lives of influence for Christ.

The job of administrator is a crucial ingredient for the progress and success of this mission. Without the efficient operational support of our administrative staff the bulk of our activity would cease. With such a diverse array of gifted staff and equally diverse programs, events and creative initiatives, it is vital to our longterm effectiveness that we maintain a well-run, central operational structure.

Because we are a relatively young organization, we are still very much in a creative phase of growth and development. In addition to the skills and responsibilities listed below, therefore, we are looking for someone who brings both experience and vision to Rivendell. In short, we are looking for a leader, a person who takes initiative as well as manages existing operations, working in partnership with the President, Fellows and other staff of the Institute.

In this light, we are seeking someone who is a spiritually mature Christian and deeply committed to the progress of the gospel, which lies at the core of our calling at Yale and beyond Yale to the world. Because all of our staff, including our administrator, raise and maintain their own financial support, it is all the more important that our new administrator have such a commitment to our mission as well.
