Job Description:
Children’s Ministry Director / Youth Ministry Director

St. John Lutheran Church (ELCA) is seeking a Full Time Children’s Ministry Director and Youth Ministry Director. These are positions requiring leadership and dedication to stewarding young people of our community. Both are a full-time paid position within the church.

• A commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and His church
• A degree in the field of education and/or significant experience in Christian Education/Administration
• Knowledge/ familiarity with current Christian Education curriculum
• An outgoing personality
• Strong leadership skills
• The ability to motivate, coordinate and work with volunteers, parents and Pastors.

Children's Ministry Responsibilities:
• Active involvement to encourage children to participate in opportunities with Christ.
• Children’s Rotational Sunday School Program (pre-K to 6th grade) – Direct/oversee teachers, training, material planning, thanking
• Nursery Program - Aware of staff, training, schedule, curriculum
• Special Programs / Activities – lead, plan and execute Christmas Program, VBS, Easter Activities, 6th Grade Camp, Harvest Festival, Service Projects, etc.

Youth Ministry Responsibilities
* Active Involvement to encourage young people to participate in opportunities with Christ.
* Confirmation training for 7th and 8th graders
* Upper Room study for High School Bible Study
* Sunday School Program for Jr. and Sr. High School
* Special Programs / Activities - Lead,Plan and execute activities

Salary based on Experience

St John Lutheran church is in Boerne, Texas, nestled in the heart of the Texas hill country, 20 minutes from San Antonio. A growing congregation with a desire to engage and support the children and youth in our church and reach out and affect the community as a whole.
