Children's Hunger Fund is a Christian, non-profit organization focused on alleviating the suffering of children by equipping God's Church to communicate the Gospel through effective compassion ministry.
The Resource Development Coordinator nurtures and develops gift in kind donor relationships with corporations, non-profit organizations and churches for local and international distribution through Mercy Network churches. This position is located in Homewood, IL and reports to the Regional Director Midwest. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
•Procures food, clothing, toys, medical supplies, school supplies, and hygiene items by soliciting corporations, conducting Food Pak campaigns, and purchasing from vendors
•Sets up and utilizes donor call schedule
•Maintains and expands current food donor base
•Communicates extensively through phone and e-mail, as well as on-site visits
•Provides weekly GIK updates and action item reports
•Provides feedback to donors through receipts, follow-up letters, pictures and other correspondence
•Organizes and or attends donor events in the evenings and on weekends
•Travels frequently to local corporations and churches
•Travels occasionally domestically and internationally Other Duties
•Maintains food and water stock in warehouse for standby in the event of a disaster
•Creates and maintains a disaster response corporate e-mail blast list and letter to be sent out in the event of a disasterSupervisory Responsibilities
•Occasionally supervises volunteers or internsQualifications
•Received Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
•Maturing in a personal relationship with Christ for at least five years
•Active in a local church for the last consecutive three years and continuing
•Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
•Three years experience in relevant business or ministry leadership or equivalent experienceSkills
•Computer literate and proficient
•Able to learn new software quickly
•Able to speak publicly and organize eventsSoftware
•Microsoft Office (required)
•Power Point (helpful, but not required)
•Raiser’s Edge (helpful, but not required)Physical Demands
•Occasionally lifts under 50 lbs.
•Able to set up and break down a display booth occasionally.
•Able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
•Moves around inside the office occasionally to access file cabinets and utilize office machinery.
•Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a copy machine and printer.
•Able to exchange accurate information verbally and in writing constantly. Work Environment
