Job Description:
Birthmother Ministries, Inc. is seeking a full-time Area Director. The position is responsible for promoting and directing the Birthmothes Program.


Be a practicing Christian in a community church, have an active devotional life, a call to Gospel ministry and a heart for adoption.

Have experience in leadership, organization, management, fundraising, budgeting, and ministry.

Have experience in public speaking, promotions, direct mail, public relations, marketing, community organizing, grant-writing, and other fund raising.

Be able to relate to and form alliances with other national organizations.

Be able to establish a national presence, image, and stature for Birthmothers.

Time Commitment:
This position is full-time. Evening meetings and occasional weekend meetings are required.

Direct and manage the Birthmothers organization. Provide leadership and motivation to the staff and volunteers.

Set specific long- and short-term organizational and individual goals. Write one- three- and five-year goals for Birthmothers.

Actively engage in area fundraising in the secular and religious communities and produce annual fundraising events.

Recruit, hire, supervise, manage, and evaluate the Birthmothers staff. Provide staff with the tools they need to perform their jobs, including:
a. Meet with staff annually.
b. Receive weekly and monthly reports from staff and provide monthly support and direction.
c. Provide staff with all manuals and materials necessary to perform their duties.

Manage production and distribution of all mailings and promotional materials to help promote the ministry, e.g., posters, flyers, newsletters, appeals, etc.

Promote Birthmothers to local churches, community organizations and resources, potential funding agencies, and the press.

Manage the program, personnel, and administrative functions and reports necessary for the success of the program.

Be responsible for the budget, record-keeping, and client records.
