The position of Youth Ministries Coordinator is responsible for overseeing, scheduling and evaluating spiritual programs, worship opportunities and events for youth, (6th through 12th grade)
of a 1300 member United Methodist congregation in a large suburban area. The Coordinator will serve as leader of a youth leadership team that includes parent and other adult volunteers, youth-aged leaders and members of church staff in planning and facilitating
the overall youth program. The ability to work well on a team, to recruit and empower lay volunteers and to develop strong spiritual leadership within the youth are crucial skills that will lead to success in this position. Time-management and the ability
to delegate and train volunteers are also valuable skills for this position. The Youth Ministries Coordinator will have a solid foundation in the Christian faith and familiarity with United Methodist practices and/or a willingness to learn. This person should
be energetic, mature in their faith, have a passion for young persons and able to be a strong role-model as a Christ-like disciple. Previous experience and education in Christian discipleship and youth ministries is desirable. Part time with possibility of
full-time if youth program experiences growth.
