Administrative Assistant-National Program Development/Ministry Relations

 

Primary Responsibilities:

A motivated, self-starter Administrative Assistant responsible to the National Program Development/Ministry Relations department and its clients for providing a wide variety of advanced administrative support.  The Assistant will report directly to the Client Services Manager.  The focus is on keeping the department process and staff organized and supported by performing duties administrative in nature.

 

Tasks Performed:

Maintain responsibilities for advanced administrative support functions to the department including various projects to ensure efficient utilization of time by performing the following duties including typing and distributing, upon review and approval, department correspondence, reports, memos and projects from notes, drafts or dictation.  The Assistant is responsible for processing expense reports and travel arrangements.  Continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing material, and establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.  The Assistant must handle and maintain confidential and non-routine information by implementing discernment, discretion and diplomacy.

 

Essential Functions:

Answer department phones and communicate effectively and in a professional manner with outside and internal callers.  Ensure files are up to date and that all are clearly marked for easy access.  Coordinate department correspondence to facilitate on-going communications and efficient department operations. The Assistant must do accurate and responsible data base entry, retrieval and reporting.   

 

Required Job Experience:

Minimum 5+ years of experience in an administrative position. Strong proficiency in Word, Excel, Power-Point and Outlook are essential. Familiarity and understanding working with a database.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a necessity. Familiarity and understanding of the National Ministry Programs carried by Salem Communications.

 

Desired Education or Degree:

College Degree

 

Other Qualifications:

Team player, flexible, spontaneous to needs as required.
