About Our Ministry:


Resurrection Brooklyn began worship in Park Slope in March 2004 with the hope of becoming the first of many new neighborhood congregations to serve the growing and ever-changing population of New York City's largest borough. We started with a small group of "Brooklynites", many of whom were attending Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Manhattan, who wanted a local congregation to which they could invite their friends and neighbors.


As the Park Slope congregation grew, we began making plans for another worshipping community in Williamsburg, which took root in 2005 and also began to grow. Over time, these two congregations attracted many people from neighborhoods in between and we have now started our third congregation in Clinton Hill. Together, and alongside many other churches and ministries in Brooklyn, we intend to be a faithful presence that displays God's renewing work in Jesus Christ. And we hope God will continue to bless our efforts in starting many more new congregations in Brooklyn.


While our network and our congregations are still fairly new, our beliefs and practices are not. Resurrection Brooklyn wholeheartedly embraces the historic Christian faith expressed in all the ecumenical creeds of the universal church (e.g., the Apostles and Nicene Creeds). Secondarily, we are committed to the theological heritage of the Protestant Reformation seen in our commitment to the faith as it is expressed in the Westminster Confession of Faith and our affiliation with the Evangelical Presbyterian denomination. Because we are rooted in these theological commitments, we are able to partner with churches across the theological spectrum and celebrate any work that is done in the name of Jesus.

Position Responsibilities:

1. Manage payroll
    - Maintain and execute payroll needs

    - Create bi-weekly pay schedule based on budget for

       - Full-time employees

       - Part-time employees

       - Occasional employees

       - Musicians and childcare workers

2. Maintain contents of safe deposit book

3. Assist Executive Pastor with budget review and preparation

4. Manage enrollment/communication with insurance

5. Apply for/manage payment of rented facilities

6. Maintain membership database(s) including certificates and ACS

7. Maintain contact database (all)

8. Office Purchasing

    - Office supplies/maintenance

    - Communion supplies

    - Special worship supplies

9. Maintain calendar

    - Network

    - Resurrection Park Slop

10. Maintain Park Slope congregation web site

11. Put out weekly events email for Resurrection Park Slope

12. General supervision of office administrative employees

    - Bulletins manager

    - Cleaning manager

13. Organizational management in preparation for mission trips

14. General office maintenance/organization

15. General office conditions

    - Storage

    - Supply purchase

16. Communication with various ministry leaders

17. Maintenance and expansion of ACS functionality

18. Administrative assistance for new church plants

    - Certificate of Assumed Name applications

    - Purchasing

19. Attend to administrative details for "all church" events

20. Interface with Mercy Team leaders regarding disbursements

21. Maintain general email account and office phone systems



1. Previous office manager/administrator experience preferred

2. Previous non-profit experience a plus but not required

3. College degree a plus but not required

4. Reputation of integrity

5. Strong communication skills

6. Ability to multi-task

7. Strong desire to serve
