At Milestone, we are striving to become a people who display the nature and character of Christ.  We love people; therefore, our desire is to see the message of Christ reach out and inspire our community.  In 2002, Milestone began meeting with a team of 32 people.  Today, over 3,000 people attend our seven weekend services, across two campuses.  The Finance & Operations department continues to grow as we seek to wisely steward our resources to the glory of God.


The primary responsibilities of the staff accountant includes, but is not limited to, general ledger responsibility, financial reporting, as well as budget analysis and other special projects as assigned.  This position can be Full Time or Part Time.  The ideal candidate will perform some or all of the functions listed below, depending on desired number of hours worked per week.



  • Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information 


  • Maintains general ledger 


  • Journal entries and analysis supporting month-end accounting close


  • Summarizes financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other specialized reports


  • Manage, develop, and enforce internal controls, and standard operating procedures


  • Assist in the annual budgeting and planning process and other projects as needed


  • Prepare and post monthly payroll entries


  • Post accounts payable and contribution information on a weekly basis


  • Maintain monthly and/or annual fixed asset schedules


  • Experience with QuickBooks and/or Sage Fund Accounting 100 (MIP)


  • Experience with  and Microsoft Excel


  • Proven ability to work in a team environment

  • Must have an Bachelors Degree in Accounting and at least 4 years experience


  • A combination of education and experience may be acceptable
