Job Description:

POSITION TITLE:  EDITORIAL ASSISTANT (P/T) – Camarillo, CA  

 

POSITION SUMMARY:  Salem’s department of National News and Public Affairs (NNPA) provides a wide variety of services to Salem radio stations and Salem syndicated programming, including daily commentaries; talking points for Salem hosts; research and audio for talk radio programs; company editorial positions on key political/cultural issues; political and legislative action on regulation and other issues that may affect the company’s future viability.  The Editorial Assistant will help out in all aspects of NNPA’s content creation, including: identifying audio and audio/video for use in weekend syndicated radio programs and  Salem’s own talk radio programs; editing and transcribing audio for NNPA editorials; various administrative and record-keeping responsibilities related to NNPA’s radio and editorial products.

 

HOURS:   Part-Time Position: 15 -25 hours per week

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:  For consideration, candidates should have at least two years of experience in journalism, media, politics and/or public affairs; an interest in and a passion for news, culture and ongoing developments in American public life.  A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline is highly desired.  Knowledge of and working with issues and concerns affecting Salem’s Evangelical Christian and politically conservative core audience is essential.
