NYC, and tri-state area- New York City Rescue Mission is seeking an experienced Major Donor fundraiser to help further its local based programs of feeding and sheltering homeless men and woman, as well as its long term residential recovery program. The
organization is the oldest Christian based rescue mission in the United States for providing spiritual and physical assistance and hope to hurting individuals seeking help at our door.
The Major Donor Officer will research, ID, cultivate, solicit, steward existing and potential major donors for a portfolio of 80 - 100 major donors/prospects within the tri-state region. Focus will be on raising support for general operations, including
current feeding, sheltering, as well as residential and event sponsorship programs. Also possible future expansion programs and building campaigns may be included.
The Major Donor officer will maintain and develop relationships with high capacity donors and prospects that align their interests and abilities with the mission’s purpose and objectives. The Major Donor Officer will maintain an active schedule of personal
visits and all other communication methods for management strategy that engages donors with opportunities for significant and meaningful partnership.
As the lead Major Donor officer he will report to the Director of Development and will be part of a major gifts team, who will work from the mission office and from home if needed, traveling locally at least 3 days a week as needed.
Required: Christian faith and have a passion for helping the poor. Seasoned major donor professional with at least 3 years experience in raising 6 figure current gifts with a future annual goal of 1 million in gift income, preference in familiarity of clients
on Wall St and other areas of wealth in the NYC area. Bachelor's degree, and CFRE preferred, experience can substitute. Knowledgeable and experienced with a variety of fundraising concepts, and ability to travel locally and when needed regionally.
