Job Description:

Position Summary: The Health and Medical Plan & Insurance Coordinator is the liaison between the WorldVenture missionaries and Medical Plan administration, and the third party administrator for claims and voucher processing. Other responsibilities include assisting in the negotiation and set up of the stop-loss insurance and evacuation insurance terms and plans; supervising the payment and reimbursement of Medical Savings Account funds; assisting missionaries with their questions; communicating with the missionaries regarding medical bills, procedures, and policies; and assisting in the revision of the annual medical plans as needed. Position Responsibilities: • Function as department resource expert for claims, billing, and insurance matters for missionaries and third party administrator • Function as primary contact between WorldVenture and third party administrator • Coordinate all activities, communication, and problem-solving with third party administrator • Act as primary insurance liaison and information contact for claims and voucher processing for missionaries and third party administrator • Act as departmental resource for all internal departments • Coordinate Health and Medical Department third party administrator and IT reporting and produce statistics for future direction and decision-making • Assist with update of annual WorldVenture medical plans • Monitor health care reform guidelines as appropriate for the Medical Plans • Collaborate with other departments regarding missionary medical situations and any accompanying financial details as necessary • Collaborate with department supervisor regarding policies, procedures, benefit specifics, insurance contracts and negotiation, and department exceptions • Communicate on an ongoing basis with missionaries regarding medical situations, support, billing, evacuation, etc. • Respond to missionaries’ claims and insurance issues and situations in a timely manner • Facilitate payment and reimbursements of Medical Savings Account fund allocations • Assist with Health and Medical Department information presentations to the missionaries and appointees during trainings and home assignments • Collaborate with Health and Medical Department team regarding missionary medical needs and treatment • Assist with the coordination of medical evacuations with the missionaries and the medical evacuation company • Coordinate admission to treatment facilities and hospitals as needed • Liaison with current and potential vendors for Health and Medical Department service and insurance providers • Perform other related duties as required and assigned Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Integrity and trustworthiness with confidential information required • Thorough understanding of commercial medical insurance, and experience working in the medical insurance industry • Excellent computer and office equipment skills, Word and Excel required • High attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities • Well-developed customer care and relationship skills (phone and in person) • Understanding of medical billing and coding, and insurance terminology • Knowledge of various applicable regulations, including HIPAA • Adapts quickly to change in a fast-paced environment • Professional, pleasant and helpful attitude; welcomes answering questions and providing assistance Personal Qualifications: • Deep commitment to a personal relationship with God and a desire to serve Him in a worldwide ministry • Enthusiastic personal interest in and dedication to WorldVenture’s vital and significant ministry • Christian character that reflects and embodies the Christian values, beliefs and principles foundational to WorldVenture, and a willingness to subscribe to the eight-point doctrinal statement • Service-oriented attitude of assisting and serving others • A team player that displays humility and a learner’s attitude Education or Formal Training: Minimum of undergraduate or associate’s degree, or commensurate work experience; previous work in the medical field required; previous experience with medical insurance and billing required Work Environment/Physical Activities: Office environment
