Concord Church Position Description
Job Title: Director of Production
Reports to: Director of Administration
This position will be in charge of all production and post production related initiatives and overseeing the internal/external production department as well as coordinating all production efforts. Prepare monthly status reports on all Concord production activities. Will serve as liaison between Media Ministry and other church ministries, as well as media outlets. The ideal candidate must know your way around a set and have knowledge of video cameras, audio boards, microphones and lights. In addition, it requires a creative person who can function independently, have ability to multitask and know how to prioritize projects and execute quickly. Must have ability to plan, organize and to supervise and coordinate a cohesive production team. Must possess strong work ethic, unquestionable character, and excellent leadership skills.
Manage and lead the media department, as well as oversee production operations and equipment inventory.
Work closely with Senior Pastor, Director and Marketing teams to capture vision on special assignments and sermon series. Must be able to convert vision in to real workable solutions.
Supervises setup and operation of production equipment (worship center, control room, or field) including cameras, video recorders, lights, microphones, and computer graphics programs.
Supervise and assign duties to production team and volunteers, engaged in technical aspects of production and post production activities.
Will hire, evaluate, and mentor coach team members, in order to expand department capacity and effectiveness.
Development and implementation of strategic plans and policies and procedures while ensuring their compliance.
Oversight and leadership in the implementation of departmental training for team members and volunteers, in use of equipment such as, switchers, cameras, FOH, microphones and lights.
Direct technical aspects of audio/video other productions, checking and switching between video sources, and taking responsibility for increasing media product sales.
Performs other related duties as assigned by Director of Administration or Senior Pastor.
Contribute fresh ideas to video shoots and edits. Coordinate shoot calendar and post production schedule.
Encourage and build mutual trust, respect and coordination among team members.
Maintain a positive working relationship with Ministry Leaders and external contractors and vendors.
Excellent analytical, written/verbal communications, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Communications and Media — Knowledge of media production and equipment, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media.
Administration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, budgeting, proven leadership ability, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Telecommunications — Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of telecommunications systems.
Skills/Equipment Operation Required
Strong knowledge of both MAC and PC platforms.
Strong knowledge of Pro Series
Strong knowledge of Final Cut Pro and video formats (HD, HDV, SD.)
Understand HD workflow from HDV to HDCAM using FCP
Demonstrate Post Production engineering skills.
Fluent in Post Production infrastructure.
Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
