Group Publishing has an opportunity for the right candidate to become part of a dynamic and energetic team. We are currently seeking a solutions-driven Application Software Developer for our Technology Group.
This position will be required to plan, analyze, design, modify, implement software and databases as requested by end-users and leadership as well as providing technical support to other programmers.

•Experience with high volume web sites and demonstrable knowledge of optimizing database code for performance, Object Oriented design, and .NET design patterns.

•Strong business analysis capabilities to interpret requirements and structure them into application development standards across multiple programming languages.
•Functions independently possessing strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize .and manage multiple projects.
•Adaptable, proactive, willing to take ownership and possess strong follow-up.
•Excellent communication skills, Exceptional problem solving capabilities.
•BA/BS in Computer Science, related degree, or strong comparable experience.
•5+ years of professional software development experience.
•Strong understanding of software architecture, OO principles and common design patterns
•Create efficient and logical databases for clients.
•Designs and codes superior technical solutions.
•Easily recognizes system deficiencies and implements effective solutions.
•Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
•Communicates and enforces coding standards.
•Involved in Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL) solutions using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
•Experience in developing portal using SharePoint portal server.
•Provide support for Web Services.
•.Net technologies (emphasis on ASP.NET and ADO.NET, either VB or C#).
•Extensive Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) programming in MS Access, and familiarity with other MS Office application object models are required.
• Experience with HTML/CSS, Java programming (especially JSP), VBScript, Classic ASP, Oracle Database and Oracle Applications are a plus.
•5+ years of development required including experience in the following technologies: MS SQL Server, MS Reporting Services, C#, MS Access, SQL Server DTS/SSIS, Oracle PL/SQL, SQL Server T-SQL, Oracle DBMS (10g), MS SharePoint Development, Discoverer, OO concepts, UML and some knowledge of Adobe (CS4 preferred).
•Moderate to advanced experience in database development, design, maintenance and support of a relational database environment (Oracle, MS SQL, mySQL and MS Access.
