2. General Description of the Position’s Function and Purpose
The Program Manager is responsible to manage all medical equipment that has been donated to developing countries as part of Assist’s medical programs, develop equipment maintenance solutions for install base, assist in selecting and procuring new and used
medical equipment and supplies for future projects, and track various projects to ensure project timelines are met. Other areas may include, but not limited to, equipment servicing, donor relations and logistics.
3. Specific Duties and Responsibilities
§ Develop and manage service agreements for medical equipment related to the GE-DHG program
§ Develop medical equipment maintenance solutions in conjunction with GE, various NGO partners, hospitals and Ministry of Health offices
§ Visit hospital sites to assess medical equipment servicing, vendor performance, and improve equipment sustainability solutions
§ Track status of all equipment related to GE-DHG program, measuring equipment performance, resolving service issues, and providing regular updates on equipment status
§ Identify solutions to improve equipment sustainability
§ Maintain oversight of vendors to ensure timely delivery and installation of equipment and adherence to service contracts
§ Ensure prompt service for medical equipment requiring repair
§ Maintain current database of all equipment allocated to various programs
§ Assess equipment needs and procure equipment as needed in support of medical projects
§ Provide regular updates on service agreements
§ Communicate regularly with Ministry of Health departments, hospitals, service providers and other related parties
§ Maintain good working relationships and communication with Assist’s partners
§ Lead project teams on humanitarian missions as needed
§ Work with PR department to provide information and images for completed projects
§ Provide requested data to Development Office for grant writing purposes
§ Represent Assist at various venues, including overseas, as needed
§ Other duties as assigned

§ Purpose of Contacts – Contact with Ray Schmidt as Direct Supervisor. Contact with Bob Pagett as President, Charlene Pagett as Executive Administrator, and Ralph Sudfeld as Vice President. Contact with Matt Sudfeld for logistics, contact with Jim Stunkel
for medical projects, contact with Dana Bowles for accounting and Human Resources. Contact with all other co-workers in Scotts Valley and Ripon offices. Contact with donors and vendors to procure equipment.
§ Physical Requirements – This position requires lifting up to 40 lbs.
§ Work Environment – Desk with computer will be provided at the Assist
International Distribution Center office located in Ripon, California
§ International and domestic travel is required for this position (8-10 weeks annually).

Operations Vice President (Ray Schmidt)
§ Experience – Previous project management and administrative experience required. Medical and technical background helpful.
The incumbent must be detail-oriented and work well under pressure, meeting multiple, sometimes conflicting, deadlines. The incumbent shall, at all times, demonstrate a cooperative attitude with colleagues and supervisors. Formal project management training
