Pacific Academy is a highly successful independent, co-ed. Christian school for students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12. The school is operated by the Pacific Pentecostal Education and Communication Society, an independent, non-profit society. Founded in 1985 by a group of Christian pastors and laymen, the school opened in Coquitlam with an enrollment of 200 students. In January 1991, Pacific Academy moved to new facilities on 40 acres in Surrey, BC. In September 2004, Pacific Academy High School became an International Baccalaureate World School and is currently enrolling 1,450 students.

With the current Head of School stepping down in June 2009, Pacific Academy is seeking a new Head to take the school forward with passion and energy and with a strong vision for the future. This is an outstanding opportunity to provide leadership to one of Canada’s leading independent Pentecostal schools.

The Head of School is accountable to the Board of Directors for providing overall leadership and direction of Pacific Academy and will support the Board and its mandate and will be accountable for ensuring that the Pacific Academy operates within the policy and strategy framework established by the Board. The Head of School will provide advice and counsel to the Board in all matters impacting Pacific Academy and will provide effective and inspirational leadership to the faculty, staff and community of Pacific Academy.

As the Board has stated, “the successful candidate will be a Christian educator whose personal beliefs and experience are consistent with the Pentecostal distinctive of our statement of faith”. The individual will bring a demonstrated ability as a school administrator in an independent or Christian school environment working with elementary or secondary students. The individual will have an undergraduate degree and be a Certified Teacher and ideally will hold a graduate level degree or diploma.
