Job Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY:  Coordinates the production and delivery of digital communications in support of integrated organizational marketing and communication goals. The right candidate for this position will have experience with social media marketing, search engine optimization, affiliate marketing, email marketing and PPC advertising.




1. Social Media Team Leader:

  • Defines, refines, implements and maintains the Social Media strategy, standards, best-practices and functionality to create new ways to communicate with our existing audience, attain qualified leads and convert them to increasing levels of engagement through Precepts 3 levels of customer engagement (3 D’s)
  • Responsible for developing and implementing social media plan.
  • Directs Social team in researching best practices and developing strategies for each of the primary Social Media tools: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube,
  • Management of social media pages, reports, and budget for Precept and Kay Arthur accounts.
  • Strategic planning to balance Ministry vs. Marketing initiatives, trackable revenue, fan growth, and virality.
  • Develops content (writing and art direction) and oversees writing for two content developers, including proofing and editing.
  • Provides ongoing training for content developers in the use of social media tools, delegates tasks as appropriate to their level of training and leads the team in accomplishing social and other online objectives.


2. Develops and manages the SEO strategy using HubSpot tools.

  • Works with Web Content Developer to optimize website pages for search engines.
  • Conducts keyword research and selection, compose and test ad copy (offers) and landing pages to produce optimal click-through rates.
  • Develops blog and works with Social Team to create 3 posts/ week of relevant content to appeal to the various market segments Precept is targeting.
  • Develops engaging offers to draw in new customers and optimize conversion rates.  Tie offer to a related item at regular retail price.
  • Monitors campaign results, analyzes key metrics, and optimizes click-through and conversion rates.


3. Develops and refines an online advertising strategy.

  • Collaborates with outside vendor to develop and refine a pay-per-click (PPC) strategy.
  • Conducts keyword research and selection for pay-per-click campaigns, composes and tests ad copy and landing pages to produce optimal click-through rates.
  • Provides proposals for investment in other online advertising channels: remarketing ads, banner adverts on specific sites targeted to Precepts key market segments, etc.
  • Monitors campaign results, analyzes key metrics, and optimizes click-through and conversion rates.


4. Drives qualified traffic through organic and paid search channels and develop new traffic drivers that increase qualified visitors to the website over time.


5. Provides monthly reporting for online marketing programs including social media, SEO initiatives (HubSpot), online advertising/PPC efforts and specific campaigns with a focus on marketing effectiveness and continuous improvement through recommendations.

6. Manages relationships with IT, Social Team and vendors, oversees execution of all initiatives, prioritizes and manages projects to timelines, budget, and resources.


7. Responsible for supporting Marketing efforts with integrated promotional campaigns including product-specific marketing communications.


8. Coordinates with Marketing Manager on a quarterly and monthly basis to align social media marketing with outgoing email campaigns and other promotions.


9. Reviews current industry trends and make recommendations based on industry trends and competitive activities.

11. Website Maintenance

  • Weekly review of website for accuracy.
  • Communicates to Web Content Developer when site needs to be updated.  Follows up to make sure it is completed.


12. Provides general marketing support for Marketing Manager and assists with projects outside the scope of this job description on an as-needed basis.


13. Maintains consistent lines of verbal and written communication with Marketing Manager.  Approval is needed for any project that is a new initiative or change in direction.



  1. Minimum of 3 years of experience with social media marketing, search engine optimization, affiliate marketing, email marketing and pay per click.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge of online marketing and social media trends and willingness to dedicate necessary time to staying current in this dynamic environment.  This position is expected to be the Online Marketing/ Social Media Expert for the Marketing Team.
  3. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to write for a variety of styles of marketing communications (social posts, blogs, tweets, web content and eNewsletters, plus more traditional marketing content such as press releases, brochures, emails and ad copy). Knowledge of accepted publishing formats and standards. Proficient in grammar, spelling, and proper sentence formation.
  4. Adept at market research, data analysis, reporting and problem solving.
  5. Computer literate with a strong understanding of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, Access, PowerPoint.  Must have experience with mass email programs and web design applications. 
  6. Self-starter with a hunger to learn new things; grasps new concepts, projects and computer applications quickly. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team; to carry out assignments to completion with minimal instructions; to adhere to prescribed routines and practices; to maintain records and to accept critiques and revisions.
  7. Able to prioritize and multitask in a fast paced office while maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  8. Proven ability to work effectively and efficiently under deadlines in a constantly changing environment while meeting pre-established timetables and deadlines. Identifies potential problems, evaluates options and implements solutions before they affect established timeframes.
  9. Demonstrate a high level of maturity by consistently exhibiting good judgment, level-headedness and personal accountability. Respond to the needs of others in a respectful, timely and concise manner.
  10. Establish and maintain effective, respectful working environment within the organization and with external partners. Possesses empathy for others – identifies, relates with and respects the feelings and ideas of others.  Ability to resolve conflict in a biblical fashion.
  11. Thorough knowledge of policies and procedures of Precept Ministries International; ability to understand and interpret policies and procedures clearly and accurately.
  12. Knowledge of Precept Ministries International, inductive study method and our products/ events/ services is preferred.



Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related field is required. Minimum 3 years of experience in internet marketing, including social media and search engine optimization; and the demonstrated ability to create and manage multiple projects.  Knowledge of Precept Ministries International Inductive Study Method is beneficial.
