Urban Ministry Internships

Job Description:
These positions are full-time paid internship positions through AmeriCorps. Applicants should view these positions as internships to gain experience in a nonprofit/ministry setting working in one of the largest organizations doing technology and ministry worldwide. Applicants for these positions must be at least 18 years old and have a high school degree or equivalent (GED); must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States.

Benefits: These positions will provide a basic living stipend for the year of about $11,400 plus health insurance. Child care benefits are available if needed. After completing the year, the AmeriCorps member is eligible to receive either a taxable $4,725 education award to pay off past student loans or future schooling or end-of-service taxable stipend of $1,200. In addition, repayment of Federal student loans may be put on hold for the duration of the year that you are an AmeriCorps. AmeriCorps benefits do not affect eligibility to continue receiving government benefits based on need (food stamps, WIC, veterans benefits and HUD subsidized housing). Other benefits include 10 days of vacation time and 10 days of sick time (in addition to holidays); May qualify for Student Loan Forbearance; May qualify for payment of accrued interest on Student Loans, May qualify for Food Stamps (value of up to $130 per month), May qualify for childcare allowance, May qualify for relocation expense reimbursement. Other benefits include 10 days of vacation time and 10 days of sick time (in addition to holidays), etc.

Background and experience in working with diverse urban populations is strongly desired as well as experience in non-profit/faith-based organizations. Moderate knowledge of computers is required.
