Donor Ministries seeks an experienced Foundations Relations Specialist to work within the Donor Ministries team to proactively develop financial support from private foundations, public charities, and individual donors. This position represents
Samaritan’s Purse to prospects and donors for funding consideration through personal presentations, formal and informal project proposals, requests, and maintain appropriate follow-up reporting.
The position works collaboratively among ministry departments to excellently serve a portfolio of prospect/donor relationships and has a primary responsibility for managing those relationships. This position will travel occasionally. The ideal candidate will
be skilled in prospect research, grant proposal development, and relationship management, and have a desire to raise financial support for the ministry of Samaritan’s Purse. The successful candidate will present well in person, in writing, or by phone with
excellent communication and donor-service skills.
A proven track record of successful donor relationship management, 3 to 5 years’ experience, and a background in customer service, sales and/or marketing is desired.
Holds a Bachelor degree in business, communications, marketing, public relations, or similar area; with two to four years related experience in donor/customer service, communications/writing, sales/marketing or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Research and writing skills, at the level normally demonstrated through college graduate proficiency, are required in order to compile and analyze data for reports, and to compose, produce, and edit documents and grant proposals. Twelve credit hours of college-level
Biblical studies strongly preferred. Must maintain a personal relationship with and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
