Job Title: Sr. Accountant
To be a people of faith who seek the heart of God through worshipping, witnessing, and sharing the love of Christ (God’s son) with the world.
The Senior Accountant reports to the Controller. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, general ledger responsibility, financial reporting, as well as budget analysis and other special projects as assigned.
Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Maintains general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
Journal entries and analysis supporting month-end accounting close.
Summarizes financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
Secures financial information by completing database backups.
Protect assets by enforcing internal controls.
Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Assist Controller in the annual budgeting and planning process and other projects as needed.
Must have a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and at least 4 years experience.
CPA is a plus.
Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Accuracy in daily work and other projects.
Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines.
Adherence to policies, procedures and instructions of the Controller.
Ability to maintain good working relationships with vendors and other employees.
Experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical skills – gathering, interpreting and reporting of results.
Well organized, self-motivated and works independently.
