Description of Barnabas Aid: The mission of Barnabas Aid is to support Christians where they are in a minority and suffer discrimination, oppression and persecution as a consequence of their faith. Our goal is to strengthen Christian individuals,
churches and their communities by providing material and spiritual support in response to needs identified by local Christian leaders.
We do this by making their needs known to Christians around the world, by encouraging prayer, advocacy and financial giving in support of these brothers and sisters in Christ, working with existing local Christian organizations.
Barnabas Aid channels this flow from donors to the needy recipients with minimum overheads. All gifts are monitored to ensure they are used in line with the stated need.

Position Description: Fundraising is the primary component of the Development Coordinator position and essential for the long term sustainability of the work of Barnabas Aid, by developing contacts with local churches, trusts and individuals
to facilitate the expansion of the work of Barnabas Aid in the United States.
An integral function of the position is to seek opportunities to speak or preach in churches on behalf of Barnabas Aid. In addition to daily administrative tasks in the Barnabas Aid Office in McLean, VA the position requires a willingness to work in the
evening or weekends when the occasion demands. The Development Coordinator will be directly responsible to the International Directors.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s/Master's degree and a number of years of related experience. Additional experience may be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements. Barnabas Aid offers a competitive salary and

Responsibilities: The Ideal Candidate will be dedicated to the unique aims of the ministry of Barnabas Aid and to increasing the donor and financial base. This position requires someone who is energetic, inspirational, and able to work well
in a team, able to demonstrate strong organizational skills, flexibility, and respond quickly to the changing religious and political situations facing the persecuted church. This position also requires someone who is able to quickly grasp complex issues pertaining
to the persecuted church and to articulate them effectively in a variety of settings, able to make contacts with a wide variety of possible donors and imaginatively seek out new avenues of funding to make this role successful.
