Communication Institute

Communication Institute (CI) is the administrative office that serves the European Leadership Forum (Forum) and all of its initiatives.  The Forum exists to unite, mentor, and resource Europe’s evangelical leaders.  This happens first at the Forum’s annual, May meeting in Wisla, Poland.  This year’s Forum was attended by nearly 670 individuals from over 40 countries. As a result of it, more than 350 local, national, and regional strategies, events, and partnerships will occur across the European continent over the course of the next year.  To learn more about the Forum, visit www.euroleadership.org.


In addition, CI is the organizing force behind the soon-to-launch Forum of Christian Leaders Online—an internet-based community that seeks to provide Christian leaders from across the globe with access to world class resources.   These vary from interactive webinars with leaders like Os Guinness to video recordings of teachers like Becky Pippert.


Overall Responsibilities

The Development Director will serve an essential role on the CI executive leadership team, as it seeks to equip, mentor, and resource evangelical leaders worldwide.  Responsibilities will include:

  • Creating and maintaining an annual development plan which combines existing strategies with new, creative, and effective fundraising ideas.
  • Assisting in the refinement of CI's articulated mission statement and goals, as well as the development of CI-related brands.
  • Communicating CI's vision, strategy, and projects clearly and enthusiastically in an effort to build new partnerships with individual donors, major donors, churches, and foundations.
  • Cultivating relationships with and creating "investment portfolios" for major donors, churches, and foundations.
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the CI Development Department
  • Ensuring that CI's fundraising practices are ethical and professional, adhering to all relevant regulations and laws while displaying a stringent level of accountability to donors.
Other responsibilities will be assigned at the discretion of the President.

Applicants must possess an undergraduate degree in any field and be able to demonstrate:

  • A strong personal commitment to Christ, a positive Christian witness, and a passion for CI's purpose and evangelical statement of faith.
  • A proven track record of successful development-related work experience (5 years minimum).
  • An understanding of the federal laws governing non-profit development practices.
  • Managerial experience (2 years minimum).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills - including a talent for public speaking.
  • A gift for networking and relationship building.
  • The ability to consider future opportunities and obstacles and incorporate them into all planning.
  • A preference for dynamic, agile work environments which require regular problem solving and strategic innovation.
Prior cross-cultural experience will be considered an asset.

CI offers paid vacation and health benefits to all full-time employees.
This position is full-time salaried exempt. Starting compensation will be based on skill level and experience.
