Job Description:

Provides computer programming for maintaining and building BGEA transactional web pages and supporting web infrastructure in the cloud.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides all back-end programming and database management for BGEA Donor Management Software, including maintenance of existing web functions and development of future capabilities, and advises other IS Development staff regarding integration code for financial system interfacing with donor system
  • Keeps abreast of emerging web technology through research and association with other programmers in the web community
  • Works with various Digital Media Services management to ensure proper functioning of all Donor Management site functions; works with I. S. Systems Administrator to ensure that web servers are operating with proper system and network compatibility to maintain all web communications
  • Coordinates with Digital Media Services management and staff to ensure cohesiveness of all programming, to provide technical requirements for e-commerce site solutions, and as otherwise assigned
  • Coordinates efforts with vendors assisting in programming web projects
  • Follows BGEA policies and procedures as defined in Policy and Procedure Manual
  • Maintains a strong Christian witness to individuals inside and outside of BGEA, attends morning devotions, and participates in prayer support for the ministry, donors, and volunteers

Marginal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates server equipment, recommending upgrades or improvements where necessary
  • Investigates and researches other web sites for evaluation of design and content
  • Advises and consults on development/deployment of intranet SharePoint sites for BGEA staff

Reporting Relationships:

  • Reports to Application Development Manager
  • Has no supervisory responsibilities

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required, with Bachelor-level degree in Computer Science or related discipline preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, and ability and willingness to collaborate and share knowledge in a team oriented environment
  • Computer systems training certificate indicative of related training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience developing, programming, and launching corporate web sites
  • Demonstrated skills in HTML, ASP.NET, Classic ASP, VBScript, MS SQL 2008, DHTML, JavaScript, and Visual Studio 2008/2010, with familiarity with ASP-based content management systems required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cloud computing solutions management for cloud-deployed sites and pages

Physical/Mental Demands:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write clear routine reports and correspondence, and to speak effectively before employees and customers
  • Ability to accurately perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions, and to deal effectively with problems involving numerous variables
  • Ability to work while seated for extended periods, to operate computer and related equipment, and to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds of weight

Working Conditions:

  • Work is typically performed in a conventional office and information technology environment
