Take Good Notes

by Angela Bainter

Searching for a new job can feel like a job in itself. If you're actively searching for a new position, you're probably reading dozens of job descriptions and, of those, you're most likely applying to a handful of them. After awhile, all the jobs begin to run together.

One of the best steps you can take in your application process is to keep notes of the jobs for which you've applied. If you stay organized, you can grab your notes and be ready to talk when you're contacted by a potential employer. Your notes will keep you from:

1. Forgetting What Company You Applied To

2. Forgetting the Contact's Name

3. Forgetting the Job Description

Always be prepared with this information so you sound knowledgeable and interested in the position. And hopefully you will land an interview!
