Job Description:

House parents provide 24/7 for the primary therapeutic supervision of the four youth in the Pathway Family Home. This includes being positive adult role models as well as providing quality adult supervision and leadership and nurturance for the youth in the home.

House parents will be responsible for the enforcement of therapeutic rules and policies pertaining to youth. House parents will also perform tasks that include preparation of meals and snacks, planning and conducting recreational activity for the youth, providing transportation for youth to and from school, counseling, doctor’s appointments, etc., and other activities consistent with helping children grow up.

The successful applicant(s) for this position should be at least 25 years of age, have at least a high school diploma or equivalency, have at least one year of full-time (or equivalent) experience in the direct provision of care for children and/or youth; possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record and automobile liability insurance (limits of $100,000 per person and $300,000 per incident).

If a married couple, they must have a compassionate and mutually supportive relationship. Applicant(s) must demonstrate sensitivity and consideration for the cultural differences among the children and families served by Pathway.

Pathway expects that this position will be the primary occupational focus for the house parents. One member of a married couple, who have no children of their own, may work outside the home or attend college or graduate school up to 20 hours per week.
